Hi, 
this issue is regarding dragging and dropping a cell with its contents to
another location in the spreadsheet.  the issue seems to have been raised and
closed in 2005 but i don't know why i still face the
same problem.  I can d&d a combination of cells i.e. if i select
two or more cells and drag them then it can be dragged. but it seems that a
single cell can not be dragged using the left click. i am very new to OOo and i
am still forced to use excel at work thus my excel habits brought this to my
notice and i though i should share it.

Hi,
Did you try this:
1) select the cell with left mousebutton
2) pull the selection, in a way that you make the selected area bigger.
now, you have the selected area coloured black
3) change the selection again with your left mousebutton until you have only one
cell selected... and coloured black.
4) now you can drag and drop your cell...

... or just click on the cell to select it and than click on it again with the
CTRL key pressed. After that d&d the cell there ever you want.

Also a double to Issue 10865 and some others.

BTW not a defect.
