This is a relatively annoying usability issue.

When you enter data in a single cell, say A2, you can't drag and drop it to a
different location such as B2 (like you can do in MS Excel)

You can however select multiple cells A3:A6 and drag and drag them to a new
location – so not sure why single cell drag and drop is not possible?

Long running issue... it is possible but difficult. Duplicate of Issue 10865
(please add your vote!).
