Last modified: 2017-09-13 04:02:34 UTC
hello, I have the problem with false positioning of some hebrew charakters in writer 1. the chiriq (u+05b4) under the yod (u+05d9) is positioned too high 2. the letter following holam (u+05b9) & merkha (u+05a5) & alef (u+05d0) overlaps the alef I am using Esrta SIL fonts other fonts/OO-Versions/WinXP make more problems hermann
Created attachment 59417 [details] hebrew charakter positioning errors
Please attach a sample document.
Created attachment 59435 [details] demo
Created attachment 59436 [details] a special font - other fonts available on internet
the same effect is with some other cantilation marks below instead of merkha (u+05a5)
the portable openoffice 2.4.1/3.0.0 (win xp)works much better (???), but some sequences are split in 2 lines - but this preoblem is with all win versions using SBL Hebrew font instead of Ezra SIL on portable OO , i found no problems up to now
Please test this in a current developer version: http://download.openoffice.org/next/index.html Describe precisely where in the document the problem can be found, how it look like and how it should look like (add screenshots)
Sorry, I dont know how to install an additional OO version on my debian linux whithout uninstalling the other one is this possible at all hermann

Created attachment 61510 [details] ooo310m9 build 9396 with ezra sil font
hi, linux ooo310m9 build 9396 with ezra sil font: often 1. (right) letter cut off (see red marks) linux ooo310m9 build 9396 with sbl hebrew font; additional often words are split in 2 lines hermann
in ooo3109m11,RC(Build 9399)/Linux(sidux 64) there are still problems I tried to update to 3.1 (not RC), but apt-get says OO to be already the newest version hermann
@khx: Install more than 1 OOo - Please have a look here: http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Run_OOo_versions_parallel#DEB_packages Current version - Download it from our site: http://download.openoffice.org/other.html To the problem you report: sorry but I don't know Hebrew which makes the tracking of errors in your document/screenshots pretty hard (upon this I am color blind so that your marks don't helps so much :) ) Can you please create a *simple* sample document with a few characters including the defect one and 2 screenshots: the defect you see in OOo and a correct display of the same characters (taken from an other application) @HDU: maybe related ro issue 101671
Created attachment 62298 [details] list with o.k and false
hello, installed newest oo-dev on sidux 64 bit (debian) the same problems as in 3.1
Maybe a duplicate of issue 99863. @HDU: I did not reproduce it (didn't try on Linux yet) but does this looks like issue 99863?
@HDU: ping! :)

Created attachment 66068 [details] new problem with holom waw in 320-m4
hello *, former problems seem to be solved in 320-m4 (64 bit sidux-debian-linux) BIG Thanks !!! but there is a new one holom waw ו often overlaps the following character the above dot is an extra character hermann
If the original problem was solved in OOO320_m4 then it was fixed by the changes for issue 104221. For the remaining problem with the holom wav overlapping with a succeeding above dot I looked at the JPEG you provided and saw nothing... A small document with just the minimal text to reproduce it would be very helpful.

Comment on attachment 59417 [details] hebrew charakter positioning errors Several of the Hebrew letters (Hananiah) are backwards (mirror images of actual letters) and some are incomplete or strange in other ways. I downloaded the Hebrew language package, but there was no improvement. Any idea what's causing these issues and what might remedy them? Thank you!
